As the shows and look books release, more brands are seen fitting into some of the beauty trends I posted about previously. The Dries Van Noten lookbook saw my ‘Hair through the ages...’ trend seek new life in another vintage hairstyle; fingerwaves.
Fingerwaves are a classic style from nearly a century ago, possibly reflecting that we are in the Roaring 2020’s.
This look has a few modern twists, would it surprise you to know that Sam McKnight also did the hair for Fendi, which had another modern vintage hair look.
The fingerwaves are lined around the face with bright strips of color.
Held into place with contrasting hair pins, a tool that would usually be taken out a hundred years ago, but now as excessive hair clips has become a sensation, these clips are left in for an unfinished/finished look.
Traditionally the back of the hair would be pin curled or rolled underneath the hair, for SS21 the hair is laid flat down the neck in a sleeker modern take.
